We're on the lookout for a creative and experienced Art Director to join our team. As the Art Director, you'll use your imaginative skills to shape the visual aspects of our games.


Your daily tasks will involve overseeing the design process and leading a talented team of graphic designer, DTP specialist and UI/UX designer. This leadership role requires aligning visual design with our product assumptions and briefs, working closely with the Product Owner to match the game vision. Additionally, you'll collaborate with the Development Team to deliver visually stunning and user-friendly game applications.

As an Art Director at Lucky Duck Games, you will:

  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of layout grids, composition, and color theory to create visually stunning games.

  • Utilize your expertise in design usability to meet market requirements.

  • Apply a strong knowledge of die-cuts and various printing processes, ensuring the highest quality in production.

  • Proficiently use graphic programs such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.

  • Showcase knowledge of miniatures modeling and production processes.

  • Utilize freehand drawing skills and/or digital painting to bring creative concepts to life.

  • Collaborate effectively with freelancers, illustrators, and other artists to achieve cohesive and engaging visuals.

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including game designers, developers, and marketing, to ensure artistic vision aligns with project goals.

  • Provide constructive feedback to team members and external collaborators, fostering a positive and creative work environment.

  • Prepare comprehensive briefs for artists.

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met without compromising quality.

  • Stay informed about the game board industry and market trends.

Job requirements

Work Experience:

  • At least 2 years of experience as an Art Director or in a similar role.

Design Knowledge:

  • Understanding layout grids, composition, and color theory well.
  • Having a good grasp of design usability based on market requirements.
  • Familiarity with die-cuts and knowledge of different printing processes and technologies.
  • Freehand drawing skills and/or digital painting to bring creative concepts to life.

Software Skills:

  • Proficiency in graphic programs like Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and/or AutoCAD, InDesign.
  • Knowledge of miniatures modeling and production processes.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Ability to collaborate closely with cross-functional teams.
  • Extensive experience working with freelancers, illustrators, and/or other artists.
  • Experience in preparing product briefs effectively.
  • Basic understanding of product strategy.

Industry Awareness:

  • Staying informed about the game board industry and market trends.

Language Skills:

  • Fluency in English, both spoken and written (minimum B2+).

Soft Skills:

  • We're looking for a self-organized and self-driven person with great attention to detail.
  • Being open-minded, open to new ideas and information.
  • Ability to adapt artistic concepts to align with evolving project requirements.
  • Ability to share feedback effectively. 

Extra Skills:

  • Experience in Kickstarter and/or Gamefound campaigns is a big plus.
  • Basic knowledge of 3D programs/3D modeling is beneficial.
  • Experience in creating Mobile Games Apps is also a plus.
