The Crowdfunding and Community Specialist role drives the marketing, hype, and community surrounding our crowdfunding campaign for Lucky Duck Games, with a primary focus on the Gamefound and Kickstarter platforms. This position requires a keen understanding of the board game industry, strong project management skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, particularly with our Development Team, which is based in Poland. Coordinating with our Crowdfunding Specialist, this role will plan, implement, and optimize crowdfunding initiatives, ensuring successful product launches and maximum campaign performance.


Responsibilities:


Campaign Management:

  • Lead crowdfunding campaigns (Target: 3 per year)

  • Collaborate with the development team to create compelling crowdfunding projects

  • Plan and execute campaign page design and marketing graphics

  • Share regular updates with internal stakeholders

Content Creation:

  • Oversee creation of campaign assets, including content, videos, graphics

  • Work with marketing team to develop engaging content and messaging

  • Coordinate video content with creators for pre-launch hype and reviews

Community Engagement:

  • Respond to community updates and engage with backers

  • Schedule and execute game demos at shows and conventions

  • Communicate with crowdfunding partners and cultivate external relationships

Strategic Planning:

  • Provide feedback on crowdfunding policies and procedures

  • Manage project budgets and monitor effectiveness of initiatives

  • Source opportunities and products for future campaigns

  • Monitor market trends and propose strategies

Performance Analysis:

  • Monitor campaign performance metrics and leverage data insights

  • Conduct post-campaign analysis to identify areas for improvement

Team Collaboration:

  • Work with design and development teams to produce engaging rewards

  • Create internal materials for high-quality product creation

  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to align crowdfunding initiatives

Job requirements

  • Minimum 5 years' board game industry/community experience

  • Proven crowdfunding campaign management experience

  • Being able to work in the Central European Summer Time zone or at least overlap with the working hour

  • Strong project management, communication, and analytical skills

  • Passion for board games and deep industry understanding

  • Collaborative mindset, ability to incorporate feedback

  • Knowledge of Internet marketing campaigns and tools

  • Fluency in English; French and Polish fluency is a plus

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field would be a plus 

  • Additional plusses include existing relationships within the board game and content creator communities, Adobe Creative Suite proficiency
