Junior Editorial Specialist (FR Market)

Job description

As a Junior Editorial Specialist at our company, you will play an important role in ensuring the successful localization of partner publishers' products and Studio creations. Working closely with the Editorial Manager, you will uphold LDG policies and values while striving for excellence in all aspects of your work. Your contribution will directly impact the quality of games we localize and, ultimately, the satisfaction of our customers.


Responsibilities:

  • Localization Oversight:
    • Support managing the localization of partner publishers' products and Studio creations.

    • Handle all aspects of the localization process, including translation, reviewing, DTP/layout, proofreading, and print file approval.

    • Being responsible for the translation of some of our projects (ENG - FR).

  • Communication and Collaboration:
    • Maintain proactive communication with the editorial team, publishers, Studio, and other stakeholders.

    • Collaborate effectively with various collaborators and teams to achieve common localization goals.

  • Quality Assurance:
    • Ensure the highest quality standards for localized games.

    • Verify SKUs, barcodes, addresses, copyrights, logos, and other legal notices on products.

    • Review and verify e-proofs, digital, and/or physical samples.

    • Provide post-release support in case of reprints, including FAQ, errata, and updates.

Job requirements

  • Language Proficiency:
    • Excellent mastery of the French language, including spelling, grammar, style, and typography.

    • Fluent in English in both speaking and writing for international communication and translation review.

  • Industry Knowledge:
    • Understanding of the board game industry and production processes.

    • Passion for board games.

  • Technical Competence:
    • Proficiency in software such as Word and Adobe Acrobat, as well as effective use of search engines.

  • Soft skills:
    • Communication and active listening skills - being able to recognize and address publishers’ needs.

    • Exceptional team spirit and interpersonal skills, with the ability to express needs clearly.

    • Excellent organizational skills and efficiency, being able to organize and prioritize tasks.

  • Experience:
    • Previous experience in translation and proofreading, preferably in the board game industry.

    • Familiarity with project management concepts is a plus.

    • Graphic design skills would be an advantage.
